EcoTourism and Sustainable Tourism 2008 (EST 2008)
EST 2008 is a European Union’s funded initiative under the Asia Invest Program. It aims at supporting business co-operation in Europe and Asia between organizations, private and public companies etc engaged in the eco tourism and sustainable tourism sector. Under this project WELDO will select a total number of 5 SMEs, (sectors given below ) engaged in the EcoTourism or Sustainable Tourism sector for a matchmaking event in Shanghai, China from the 20th to 21st of November 2008. Tour Operators, companies and organizations involved in the tourism and ecotourism sector

Services Suppliers (training and education etc) and consultants (ecolabel certifications etc)
-
Equipment suppliers (sport equipments, hospitality equipments etc)
-
Hotel construction (non traditional lodging, ecolodge and environmental appliances etc)
-
Sustainable transports and infrastructure
The main event under this project will take place in in Shanghai during the 10th China International Travel Mart 2008 (CITM) during the 21st and 22nd of November. The deadline for submission of applications under this project is 30th August 2008. In case two equally competent SMEs have applied the shortlisting will be made on first come first selected basis. Therefore SMEs are informed to apply at their earliest. In case some applicant is not selected but still wants to attend please contact WELDO with self financing request.

Costs related to the airfare from Islamabad-Shanghai-Islamabad and two days hotel accommodation during the event for the selected companies will be provided by WELDO under the EST 2008 project.
