WELDO is a leading not for profit developmental organization rendering valuable services to the development sector in Pakistan since January 1st, 2003. WELDO was founded by two like minded progressive women, to approach the development field in a completely novelle manner that had never been undertaken by any organization in Pakistan before. One of the operational strategy of WELDO is to hire a majority of female staff for all its programs. Therefore we are practically implementing economic empowerment of women in a number of developmental fields. WELDO is the only women organization in Pakistan working on a wide array of areas like Gender, Energy, Responsible Trade, Tobacco Control and Research & Development. We are always interested in collaborating with like minded organizations from around the world to go into partnership with so as to carryout development . One of our main strengths lies is our ability to collaborate with organizations from around the world and contributing to the field of development globally. With a vast field of experience in international projects and direct and indirect relationship with more than 200 organizations, universities, institutes and chambers of commerce across Europe and Asia, we can boost of being the only organization in Pakistan to have made such progress in such a short span of time.

Tobacco Control Research GENDER BASED ANALYSIS OF SELECTED TOBACCO CONTROL POLICY INITIATIVES IN PAKISTAN Gender Based Analysis of Selected Tobacco Run Programs in Pakistan is an International Development Research Center's (IDRC) funded research project. This project is aimed at controlling the high rate increase in the number of female smokers in Pakistan. The project intends to achieve this through carrying out gender based analysis of tobacco control programs, identifying gaps in them and compiling a framework for effective tobacco control programs that cater to the needs of both genders. In this regard we require your input.
